A quick soundbite of what is ahead in this episode

This month we kick off a series of podcasts where robotics take center stage. This episode focuses on the future of robotics, with the future being us, the next generation of the building industry. We invited a senior lecturer for robotics and a student graduating on this topic to give some insights on how robotics is currently taught and studied. As well as asking them to share their predictions of how the increasing demand for automation will change the curriculum of architects and engineers of the future.

Boris is an architect, lecturer, consultant and physical programmer. After working for various architectural firms, he co-founded Spine Architects in Hamburg in 2005.

In the course of many years of teaching assignments at various colleges and universities (including RWTH Aachen, TH Kassel, TH Cologne in Germany and TU Delft in the Netherlands), Boris Bähre was intensively involved in research and BIM teaching in Master’s and Bachelor’s programs.

His university activities focus on the ‘socio-technical’ aspect of integrative methods and the introduction of combining techniques in teaching. In his current position at the Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen – Boris is currently in charge of development, coordination and teaching within the new minor: Built Digital

One main focus of his current work is the introduction of:

Automation fabrication in teaching – implementing a live and hands-on training of physical programming and Cobot Robotica”
